“Thank you for such a wonderful stay! I was very excited to meet Mabel and she didn’t disappoint! Her hosts Jo & Nige had thought of everything to ensure our staycation was as comfortable as possible and they far exceeded our expectations. This was a lovely base to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and we enjoyed the use of a BBQ to take advantage of the sunny weather, were grateful for an extremely comfy bed at the end of a days hike and were thankful for the cinema room so we didn’t miss the Line Of Duty finale! We can’t recommend Mabel enough….although maybe we should hold back a bit as I want to make sure there is availability for our 2nd visit!”

We had the most amazing stay in Mabel. It is clean, tidy, spacious and really well decorated. The whole area is enclosed and perfect for dogs, we took my Alaskan Malamute with us and there was plenty of space. The road noise is there but we didn’t find it troublesome at all. There are plenty of walks around and 30 mins to the pub to walk, or 5 mins in a car. We have already rebooked to come again! Can’t recommend Jo and Mabel enough!

Spent a lovely evening in ‘Mabel’ and cant wait to return. The separate kitchen and bathroom facilities were immaculate and beautifully apppointed. We didnt take advantage of the theatre room on this occasion but certainly will on our next visit. Nice and private and a lovely secluded garden area that would be lovely on a sunny day. Yes its next to the A19 but the ‘whooshIng’ sound of traffic actually soothed me to sleep. Ideally located for visits to ripon, newby hall, lightwater valley, scarborough etc Also loved the story of how ‘mabel’ came to be xxx

“Honestly can’t recommend this place enough!! After a long day walking the first leg of the Cleveland Way Jo picked us up at clay bank. After hours of snow two extremely wet dogs we were met with a huge smile a extra warm dog friendly van (just what we needed). Once at Mabel Jo showed us round we found a beautiful card off the both of them ♥️. Again Mabel her adjoining buildings had the heating on full (amazing after a cold wet day). The shower was to die for the bed so comfy. Was just the nights sleep we needed before leg two. Thank you for a fabulous stay.”
